It gets asked all the time, “Why October?”

Each of us has our at the ready answer - a birthday, a company milestone, a favorite season - but nearly always the Algren quote comes to mind. A view that could look up or down, but that most often looked right at the people of

Chicago. It’s that concept that lingers in our thoughts. At October we don’t work for accolades or to show off our artistic prowess:
We create, we grind, and we deliver for people - for our customers. October is a production & post-production studio in Chicago, IL. We also have capabilities in graphics, distribution & web. More than that we’re a Chicago company that has been serving the industry for nearly 30 years. As our customers needs have changed so has our focus. We’ve matured this company from production services only into a respected and trusted creative content studio. This was a change led by our employees who everyday kept an open dialogue with our clients and how their needs were changing; its one of the reasons we don’t typically lose clients. Three of us felt so strongly about this refocus, in fact, that about four years ago we bought the company. Our team of producers & directors create impactful programing for our clients whether they be an advertising agency, a global brand, or a more locally oriented company. We’re fully capable and comfortable traveling the world with scalable crews to fit any scope of project. Our work in pre-production leads to the field teams having the best support necessary to get the shots that our clients need to best tell their stories. October has a 5,000 square foot facility located in the West Loop of Chicago, and we have all the technical capabilities and expertise to go with it. Six fiber connected edit stations equipped with Avid, Adobe, Final Cut and more allows us to work quickly & efficiently for our clients. Our graphics department can provide motion graphics and design. On top of all this, we remain committed to servicing the duplication and distribution needs of the community; it was an important piece of the full service studio on which our business was founded. It allows us to offer services like file trans-coding, LTO Tape Archive, DVD replication, website & app development, tape format encoding/conversions, closed captioning, & spot tagging. In the end, though, we don’t want to be known for our gear or our capabilities. We want October to be known for the finished product we create and the service we provide. While the last four years have seen a lot of change with new ownership, a new focus on creative content, and now a new name, our commitment to our customers and our hometown haven’t changed at all. If anything, all that change has us working even harder to continue to ensure that this remains an October sort of city.

The main studio...just outside of Washington DC. We went live from this location for a week...4 hours a day. Chicago and DC studios operated as designed and the entire show went super smooth.
