The Gang's Official page! Gang Entertainment is a collaborative group of independent filmmakers based in Chicago, IL.

Our production crew includes a wide variety of talented people, from writers, artists and directors to composers, editors, and actors. After pursuing our education in film production, we've expanded into the professional world in many ways, from local event videography studios to Hollywood movie production assistants. The core of our independent work in the past has been a comedic take on our real

We are THRILLED to be so prominently featured in Issue 2 of Shenmue World Magazine! Congratulations to James Brown and the team at Shenmue Dojo for putting together a beautiful magazine, and thank you for partnering with us to produce a special blu-ray of the entire Shenmue: Gang Edition Trilogy to include in the package. We hope fans everywhere will enjoy owning this unique piece of Shenmue community history, along with the comprehensive article Mike wrote for the magazine detailing our experience making these movies back in the early/mid 2000's.

It's the first Day of 2022! This year will see the debut of the series on Adult Swim, and as always, the fight for continues as well. The epic climax of III: The Gang Edition has Ryo turn into a cartoon and fight Perfect Chaos while ripping off Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Gang Entertainment at its best! We once again have our friend Jack Greenslade to thank for the awesome "Take On Me" style animation he did for "Super Ryo." This sequence would be absolute garbage without his work. Jack gets an extra shout-out for managing to find almost all of the original animation assets 15 years later when I got back in touch about remastering the movie a few months ago. Thanks Jack!

Ryo VS Lan Di. This is what it's all about. While Shenmue III only gave us a taste of this confrontation, we knew this was THE scene for III: The Gang Edition. Yes, we added lightsabers and Halo music. But we hope that the overall sense of epicness we put into this scene is what we ALL want to see when Ryo & Lan Di finally clash again in a future Shenmue game.

Our longest day of filming on III: The Gang Edition had the entire cast shooting at various locations on campus at the University of Illinois Chicago. In retrospect, we should have saved this scene for last. As it turns out, running and screaming through the (we assumed empty, since we were shooting on the weekend) halls of the Behavioral Sciences Building raised some alarms and somebody called the campus police on us. Came real close to getting arrested by Officer Lisa Rau, who walked in on us in the middle of some costume changes. Thankfully, a smooth-talking Kevin Quinn helped diffuse the situation when he asked the good officer to guess how much his suit cost ($14 at Goodwill) and we were let off with a warning.

III: The Gang Edition borrows pretty heavily from The Lord of the Rings throughout the 2nd half of the movie. We wanted to give Joy one more shot at confronting Ryo about her feelings for him and thought that Aragorn's reply to Éowyn from "Return of the King" would be perfect, followed up by a classic Ryo stonewalling.
