Just got word that we lost one of Chicago’s icons in Calvert Pandy the one and only ”Jr P”. He was a major part of the resurgence of Cultural Djs who insisted on putting his heart in his craft along with his “Matrix Sound”. Those of us who him can only remember that easy going fella with that big smile always. He was instrumental to Manatee Records in making sure the label was being heard throughout the city of Chicago as well as other cities throughout the USA while he was a resident of this city. Jr P also mended the early Hip Hop music in this city as he had no fears in playing music from the local artists which he was tagged as a superb Mixer even mixing Lauryn Hill and Fugees music with Reggae, Dancehall and Afrobeat sounds. He will be remembered by many in this music community of Radio as well as Club Djs especially those he mentored and was associated with. RIP my Bwoy because you and Fatta Fyah , Mike Beal, Wilhelmina Houston, Clarence Bailey and the many more in this community of African descendants will continue to let the music heard.🙏🏾💯😢🇧🇿🇧🇿🇯🇲🇳🇬🇬🇭🇹🇹🇭🇹🇬🇾🇪🇹🇰🇪🇺🇸🇬🇧🙏🏾
