Throughout Michael Charles’ career, many opportunities to perform and collaborate with other artists have arisen. These times proved to be profoundly significant, immensely valuable and very memorable. As a young boy, after learning basic chords from his father, Michael had the opportunity to travel with musicians much his elder. Unaware until later that these experiences would play an integral part in laying the foundation for his music while simultaneously honing his craft.
Some years later, upon the arrival in America, Michael stepped on stage with “heroes” he had only seen on CD covers back in Australia. Performing alongside Mr. Buddy Guy, Phil Guy, Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater, Sugar Blue, Lefty Dizz, James Cotton, Junior Wells, Will Cosby, Brian Jones, and George Baze offered a real humbling experience and an authentic “Chicago Blues” introduction. Within a few years Charles found himself on the road touring the USA with Jimmy Dawkins. In present day Michael features Charles Taylor in his Saskatoon Canada concerts and during the 2025 Australian tour MC shared double-billing with legendary Dave Hole, giving him yet another experience to honour and to cherish.
