Over a week has passed since stricter ID enforcement at Wright July
Students believe Wright's ID enforcement this summer is a new policy, President Andrés Oroz said the policy has already existed across most City Colleges of Chicago.

“It's not a new policy,” Oroz said. “At Wright we are enforcing it more, but it's not a new policy.”

In late January, the Wilbur Wright College campus experienced a pipe freeze right above the campus center's revolving doors, which then caused water to shoot upward and flood the building. Renovations due to this pipe burst are expected to be completed by the beginning of this fall.

The flooding affected the first floor of the Arts Building and the Learning Resource Center. According to Wilbur Wright Vice President of Finance and Operations, Anna-Marie Morales.

Juneteenth was celebrated on the 18th at Wilbur Wright with food, music, and an energy that encouraged us all to reflect and appreciate how far the community has come. Students were not just learning about the history but also experiencing the culture. Students tried red velvet cake, watermelon, cucumber mint salad, and barbecue chicken wings. Many conversations were held about how everyone attending first learned about Juneteenth.
