I’m recording the location sound for a short film being made at Burning Man festival out in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada. It’s called “I am a Pioneer” and features the sculpture “Farmer the Rigger” built and created by Zulu Heru.

The sculpture represents a physical symbol of one’s vocation and dedication to a dream from start to finish. It’s also a self portrait of Zulu and ties together the progression of his skills throughout his life.

“Farmer the Rigger” will debut at Burning Man which is a temporary 1 week city of 80,000+ people that embrace a more holistic and harmonious culture full of art, radical self reliance, expression, participation, and stands by principles of “Leave No Trace.”

Director Wesley Vaughn has an absolutely fantastic vision for capturing the expansive role “Farmer the Rigger” will play within the Burning Man community, and I whole heartedly believe it will be an enthralling, immersive, and thought provoking piece that I’m proud to be a part of.
