Scott Lynch is the founder and head of XR development at VOYRE, an immersive media company focused on using stories and technology to democratize experiences. Do you get excited about everything related to space flight! We do too and we are looking for an awesome and experienced Unreal Engine developer to help us with our latest project!

VOYRE is an immersive XR production company that focuses on storytelling and cinematic experiences. Headquartered in Chicago and working worldwide, our team is developing a space tourism platform using satellites to bring amazing views of Earth and space to everyone.

We are looking for a Lead UE4 Developer to help us build an initial prototype of our space tourism experience and lay the foundation for our social XR platform. You can be remote, the salary will be competitive and you’ll get to collaborate with intelligent, thoughtful team members across several disciplines.

Your typical responsibilities will include -
-Taking a key role in engineering and implementing project systems
-Contributing to the technical design documents for new systems
-Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders
-Collaborating across departments to solve problems
-Prototyping, iterating and optimizing systems
-Maintaining clean and commented C++ code and blueprints
-Utilizing source control using Perforce

You’ll bring most of these qualifications -
-Passion for space exploration and rocket science
-5+ years of experience in the video game industry
-Have shipped titles on a VR platform with UE4
-Strong debugging skills
-Advanced math skills
-Proficiency with both written and spoken English
-Leadership role in a past position
-Able to work remotely with a strong internet connection
-Self-starter with ability to manage production time and meet deadlines

Ideally you’ll also have some of these qualities-
-Able to work during Central Standard -Time business hours M-F
-Previous experience shipping on Oculus Quest
-Experience with 360 video
-Multiplayer development with GameLift
-Long term vision on the future of XR

This role will be contract based at first, with a potential for full-time employment. The contract is expected to start in February and run through May 2021.

Our team was interviewed about their volumetric XR music video that is being exhibited in the Museum of Other Realities through October 7th.

Our first volumetric music video will have it's world premiere at the Vancouver International Film Festival. "Trauma Drama" is a video by Chicago artist Np0 which explores issues related to mental health. The festival will be holding virtual screenings through Museum of Other Realities (MOR). Registration is free and there are a variety of ways to access the content, even if you don't have a headset. More information about the project, including the trailer and stills from the project can be accessed below. Scott Lynch will be spending time in MOR on the 28th and 29th if you want to talk about the project and the techniques used to produce Trauma Drama.

With in-person concerts being on hiatus due to COVID-19, a team of artists are exploring new ways to connect and perform, leveraging XR to develop new types of music experiences.

Being able to effectively educate is one of the superpowers of VR technology. We are thrilled that CrashCourse was nominated by the Webby Awards to bring awareness to the dangers of concussion injuries and helping athletes make the decisions that keep them healthy.

Developed and produced by our fellow Chicago friends at Tectonic Video this interactive VR experience takes you through the experience of being injured in a game and challenges the viewer to make healthy decisions while educating you about how concussions affect your brain.
