everyone’s 2016 photo dumps made me nostalgic and going through my old photos really was “sUcH a ViBE” for about five seconds but then I read some of the screenshots and fully remembered the feeling of 2016 being the year that I left my college in Ohio where I never quite fit in to go to my college in NYC where I struggled to fit in in ways that were a little different but also felt exactly the same.

So while the sunset view from my freshman dorm room was amazing, and I would love to pet all my pets from high school one more time, and even ten more years of living can’t save me from having the experience of all my friends being invited to a party that I wasn’t invited to and other things that make me otherwise feel So High School™️ in the worst way possible, I can confidentially say that I literally and metaphorically never want to squeeze into another pair of skinny jeans in my life.

this year felt like 8 years. Highlights of 2025 in no particular order:

1. alaska was pretty cool
2. sarah snook
3. kieran culkin
4. anna birthday
5. st. louis frens in town (2 slides because insta messed up my crop and katie sent me this cute photo in between my reposting)
6. making soap (thank you )
7. emma in town // maisel puppy and charlotte forming a weird friendship (charlotte was totally obsessed with her but pretending not to be)
8.
9. chicago open house day where my friend basically took us on a field trip and i also got to pet six (6!!!!!) cats that day
10. crocs in fortnite

honorable mentions (not pictured): john proctor is the villain represented via green light, throwing a party with real glassware and none of it breaking so adult wow, every single time the cats snuggled with me.

Lows of 2025:

1) cut my finger while making these curtains at 1 am and had to go to the ER (this would have been funny except it’s america so it cost me $1400)
2) therapist moved
3) water heater broke
4) discovered i’m not too old to be bisexual. the flag is ugly and the timing is inconvenient with the no therapist thing.

honorable mentions: taylor swifts new album, also high key just the general vibes of everything worldwide.

3 years since beautiful phoebe joined my tiny family 🩷 time flies when you’re having very little fun (most of the fun I do have is chalked up to the calico girls) some of my favorite quotes about phoebe from my friends:

“i love that phoebe is like 3 (?) years old but still constantly has the expression and stature of tiny confused curious kitten who JUST got here.” -anna

“just opened my iPad and forgot I made phoebe the lock screen and was jump scared.” -mady, not to be confused with madeline .
