A pet owner in the South Deering area on the city’s far south side needs your help tracking down her missing dog.

Philly has been missing since Saturday. She is a 12-year-old chihuahua, has tan fur, weighs 10-12 lbs, and walks with a limp. She is also microchipped and needs her medication.

May is National Foster Care Month. It is a time to recognize the courage and resilience of children in foster care, and to raise awareness to ensure every child is safe, loved, and supported.

Today, we're giving center stage to a production based on real-life events. The play provides a platform for often-overlooked stories, bringing real-world narratives of the foster care system into the spotlight.

Award-winning author and director, Monique Fultz's, traumatic childhood experience inspired the book and play, “Nowhere to Call Home.” Years later, she continues to open her heart to share her remarkable journey.

The Episcopal Consecration and Enthronement Service for Bishop-Designate Eric Thomas takes place tomorrow evening at 7pm at Valley Kingdom Ministries International in Oak Forest, IL.

A major closure on State Street takes place on Monday.

SB lanes between Wacker and Randolph will be closed in the morning for emergency sewer repairs.

The work is related to the ongoing State and Lake CTA Station Project and is scheduled to last six weeks.

NB lanes will remain open and so will pedestrian access and businesses.

Tornado sirens were activated in the Chicagoland area Tuesday at 10AM, even though there was no tornado warning.

Local management performs monthly siren tests to ensure all outdoor sirens are working properly.

The next outdoor siren test is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5th at 10am.

The Chicago Police Department welcomed 248 new recruits at Navy Pier on Tuesday.

City officials say they will continue to hire officers until they fill the 1,000 open positions.

CPD will be on-site recruiting the next generation of police officers on Monday, April 6th at select IDES locations.
