Excursions Chicago

EXCURSIONS can best be described as a monthly exploration into the diverse sounds of deep house music in Chicago. Heavily infused with the rhythms of the Afro-Latino diaspora, this musical journey encompasses a variety of influences. Afro & Broken Beats, Latin & Tech House, Nu-Soul & Jazz-Funk, resident dj's Cordell Johnson and James Vincent bring it all together for a diverse audience of dancers & music lovers who seek adventure on a dance floor. EXCURSIONS-Chicago is not just your average pleasure trip, it's a Deep House...“Global Soul Dance Adventure”!

I want to add these words from a esteemed member of our family who we lost on August 9th 2015, Kimmie D. In her own words.. "I think if I've learned anything about friendship, it's hang in there, stay connected, fight for them, and let them fight for you. Don't walk away, don't be distracted, don't be too busy or too tired, most importantly DON'T TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED. Friends are part of the glue that holds life and FAITH together" Thank You Kim for your Love & Support, you meant a lot to us and everyone you came in contact with. Your presence will be MISSED!

Sean Haley: "If I leave, Who will Protect the City?" We will do our part and continue to represent our city! I love you brother Sean, you will always be apart of us!!

Also, Respect to David Mancuso: "There's another Mancuso line about sound levels that I've heard: "We practice safe sound." Lawrence expands on the idea: "David's philosophy was that his guests should leave the party with more energy than when they arrived. If you've been bombarded with sound you go out exhausted, your ears ringing, you're physically shattered." It sounds improbable, but when people emerge from the party at midnight, there's a freshness to their step that's hard to deny."
