Chan is the former Multimedia Producer at Johnson Publishing Company and EBONY Media Operations, where she was responsible for creating compelling visual content for the online publications of JET and EBONY magazines. During her time at EBONY/JET, Chan has produced various d

igital media content including interviews and cover shoots with people such as Kevin Hart, John Legend, Russell Westbrook, and Ava DuVernay. She has also produced limited web series for EBONY/JET such as The Fast Forward Series, Top Coat, In My Lifetime, and In Our Cities.

As a freelance video producer, she also provides dynamic visuals for the everyday person, entrepreneurs, artists and musicians, and even well-known companies. Chan also has filmmaking experience in terms of directing, writing, cinematography, editing, and sound mixing.

Chan's goal is to create an alternative gateway for aspiring artists, models, actors, entrepreneurs, and non-profit organizations to increase marketability of their work and their businesses, while bringing a "fresh wind" of creativity and positive images to our current media. Chan also wants to address social issues and constructs while changing lives and perspectives through her work. Currently, Chan is continuing to build her business as a video content producer and multimedia artist, and is working on various film projects, TV series and web series. ​

The guys over at improving community engagement and providing resources for people in several communities across the country. I had the pleasure of directing this project and chatting with the guys about their efforts to uplift communities on Chicago's West and South sides. Chan C. Smith is an independent filmmaker and content producer. She’s had a camera in her hand since the age of 9 and has developed her craft over the years.

Multi-platform visual content producer and independent filmmaker, Chan is a director, cinematographer, editor and writer. Her work includes narrative filmmaking, documentary, editorial and branded content.

As the former Multimedia Producer for EBONY and JET Magazines' digital platforms, Chan has produced original content including interviews, limited series for web, and behind the scenes footage of EBONY Magazine's cover shoots.

Chan is continuing to grow as an independent filmmaker and content producer, and is working on various film and media projects, TV series and web series. Chan’s goal as a leaguer is to uplift and inspire the younger generation and give guidance where needed.
