Last week, CSU and Metra officially broke ground on the 95th Street-Chicago State University Station Rehabilitation Project! 🦺
We were privileged to hear powerful remarks from Jim Derwinski, CEO of Metra, Brandon Johnson, Mayor, City of Chicago (Chicago Mayor's Office), Andrea Zopp, Chair, Chicago State University Board of Trustees, President Z Scott, and from key city, state, and community leaders including, Reverend Titus Bryant, Youth Pastor, Trinity United Church of Christ, Senator Elgie R. Sims, Jr. (17th District), Cook County Commissioner Stanley Moore, and Alderman Michelle Harris (8th Ward) ✨
This event marked a significant step forward in advancing transit equity and accessibility for our campus and community — This project was made possible by investments secured from Cook County, State of Illinois, and the federal government and a testament to the commitment leaders like Senator Sims, Alderman Harris, and Commissioner Moore have to our building an even more vibrant far south.
