So, it wasn't a big surprise when he got angry and fussy after my wife announced that she was going part-time at work to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. What I didn't expect was to come home to her crying on the living room floor next to her destroyed home library. Even my heart sank. All her cherished and annotated books were torn apart, scattered across the floor. She was picking up the pieces, cradling them like a child, sobbing uncontrollably. I rushed over to her, asking what had happened. "It was him. My dad said I'm just looking for excuses not to work and that all my little books would never amount to anything. It's stupid, I'm an adult now, his opinion shouldn't matter, but…" She broke down again, and it took me until the evening to comfort her, promising we'd replace the books. As any parent knows, traveling with an infant can be incredibly stressful, and this flight was no exception. My baby was fussy and crying, and I could feel the judgmental stares from other passengers. About an hour into the flight, a kind-looking man sitting across the aisle offered to help. He smiled warmly and said: "Would you like me to hold your baby for a while? I have a daughter around the same age, and I know how tough it can be." Desperate for a break, I reluctantly agreed. He seemed genuine, and I was exhausted. He took my baby and started rocking her gently.
