26 years after Generation X gave a voice to the collective dissatisfaction of America's lost generation, are we any more content today or have we simply become more lost?

It’s been nearly 26 years since Generation X was published. Although a millennial myself, I picked it off my girlfriend’s bookshelf recently and found it as surprisingly relevant today as when it hit shelves in ’91. Has anything changed whatsoever for the better in the last two decades?
