On August 30, we celebrate the anniversary of Jill Scott's 'The Original Jill Scott from the Vault, Vol. 1. 💿

Pulled from the vault and released in 2011, the album gave listeners another look into Jill's artistry through songs recorded during her early Hidden Beach years.

For Dr. Cornel West, music is one of our deepest expressions of emotion, a way we wrestle with reality and a force deeply connected to politics and the world around us.

Released by Hidden Beach in 2007, ‘Never Forget: A Journey of Revelations’ brought that philosophy to life through music, spoken word, and social commentary.

Featuring collaborations with Prince, André 3000, Jill Scott, Talib Kweli and more, the album used music to explore race, politics, history and the realities of American life.

Nearly two decades later, the conversations at the heart of ‘Never Forget’ continue to resonate.

In 2003, Hidden Beach published its own magazine, The Kindred Papers.

We pulled out a copy recently and thought some of it was worth sharing, including a poem from Jill Scott.

We also learned that the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture has a physical copy in its collection.

President Obama’s message of hope, unity, and service inspired a generation and continues to leave a lasting impact around the world. We’re honored that Hidden Beach had the opportunity to be part of that moment through two special projects, ‘Yes We Can’ and ‘Change Is Now’, which celebrates the voices and music of a historic time.

Celebrating the anniversary of ‘Back to Then’ by Darius Rucker. 🎉

Released in 2002, ‘Back to Then’ was Darius’ debut solo album. Following his success with Hootie & the Blowfish, he explored a new musical direction with a blend of R&B and neo-soul, making it the only album of its kind in his catalog.

Today’s reel features “Wild One,” one of the standout tracks from the album.

Darius later teamed up with Hidden Beach’s own Jill Scott for the beautiful duet “Sometimes I Wonder.” 💿

Today we’re celebrating two Mike Phillips anniversaries. 🎷

Uncommon Denominator (2005) and M.P.3 (2010) are two standout releases in the Hidden Beach catalog, each showcasing Mike’s unmistakable sound and artistry. Years later, they continue to resonate with listeners while remaining as a defining moment in Mike’s career.
