| Walking into the Rhythms of Change brunch, I definitely had my own reservations about clinical trials, but sitting in that room completely shifted my perspective.
I learned that Black women are 40% more likely to die from breast cancer, yet we make up less than 3% of clinical trial participants. Hearing that truth was eye-opening, what really stuck with me is how representation in research can save lives. When we're included, we receive better care, and doctors can better understand how to treat us.
I left feeling different. More informed. More committed. Because wellness isn’t just about self-care routines.. it’s also about equity, knowledge, and advocating for each other.
I’m grateful I was invited to be part of this conversation, and I want to share it with you in hopes it inspires you to care for yourself and your community on an even deeper level 💕
If you or someone you love is facing breast cancer, know that representation in clinical trials matters for us all.
