MOUTH (SAIC BFAW Publication)

MOUTH is an annual publication produced by SAIC’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Writing Program. It showcases exceptional and intriguing work produced by students in the program as well as those taking classes within the program. But there is more than what is simply put. MOUTH strives to be a pure form of anthology rather than an anthology that sets out to make a claim, give rise, or set rules for a new

school of literature. The publication, only in its second year, is too young but also too wise to make any such claim. In this way, Mouth is about transferring a yearning. It’s here to tell you to take note of these poets and writers whose work surrounds you, is close at hand and, most importantly, contemporaneous. The transfer of this yearning is key, hence the publication taking its name from the most efficacious and ubiquitous tool of transferring ideas.
