Kids making comics about kids making comics! We recently travelled to Houston to teach narrative nonfiction and comics to 4th graders. Here's some of the amazing work they came up with:

A few weeks ago, IP visited Liestman Elementary in Houston, TX to talk comics and run a small workshop. After speaking with the entire fourth grade, students were invited to collect in the library …

Quick update on Ms. Adeogun and IP's collaborative teaching project: We have a match offer! Which means that the project is halfway funded(for a limited time) and as long we can fund the other half(within aforementioned limited time) then our workshop is a go.

We're really excited about this, and with your help we could reach out to so many kids. For further details, please visit the project page: http://www.donorschoose.org/Mrs.Adeogun?active=true

I am a self-contained, special education teacher for 3rd/4th grade students, who's disabilities vary. They're all highly energetic individuals who require fun-filled/engaging, educational games to connect and learn.I believe that all students can learn, they just learn differently, and it's my job a…

We’re proud to present original comics from Sarah E.Goode STEM Academy on Chicago’s Southwest Side! On January 5, 2016, Illustrated Press artist Jamie Hibdon hosted a workshop at the school to teach students the basics of comic-creation and how to weave storytelling and personal experience into their art.

The students were invited to tell and draw their own stories, and the results are amazing! Check out three fully hand-drawn, Chicago-made comics below:

As some of you may know, Darryl's mom is a USAF veteran and 3rd/4th grade special education teacher. Given that a good amount of her class time is spent on classroom management, IP artist Jamie Hibdon is partnering up with her to bring our unique blend of art and storytelling to her 150 students in Katy, TX where, if funded, his custom program will help empower the students through hands-on art and storytelling.

If you have a moment, please consider donating to the "Empowering Students Through Art_Narratives_Illustrations" fund via DonorsChoose.org.

My students need school visits from established journalists who will assist them with their writing skills and awareness of the many forms of journalism.
