My landlord said the underground plumbing installation was almost finished, so I went downstairs expecting to see actual pipes in the ground. Instead, there is a muddy canal running through the foundation, loose fittings all over the gravel, and 2 guys shoveling water around like this is an archaeological site. I asked when the trench would be filled in and he said the standing water is intentional because it creates a “live flow test” before the pipes are installed. A LIVE FLOW TEST WITHOUT THE PIPES?? Apparently the basement has to demonstrate where water wants to go naturally. Is this plumbing or landlord science?

I am so furious I cannot even breathe right now! My 15 year old daughter sneaked out and got a sketchy tongue piercing that immediately got incredibly infected and swollen to the size of a golf ball. She was trying to take the cheap jewelry out over the bathroom sink because she was crying in pain and she dropped the stupid barbell straight down the drain! I had to call an emergency plumber who charged me $850 just to open the pipes and then he told me our water is too hard for healing wounds anyway and talked me into a $3,500 filtration system! A filtration system for a tongue ring?? She is grounded until she is 45 years old and I am making her work off every single penny of this $4,350 disaster. What is the right punishment for a teenager who ruins her face and my plumbing in the exact same weekend?!

I paid $3,900 to replace the water heater and came back to find this giant tank standing in the middle of the utility room with a smaller beige tank balanced above it like a decorative hat. I asked why the extra tank is floating over the top and the installer said it is a “hot water pressure balloon” that expands whenever the heater feels overwhelmed. FEELS OVERWHELMED?? Then he told me the copper pipes need to remain visible so the heat can escape naturally into the room. My wife says it looks normal, but I feel like I paid thousands for a plumbing themed art installation. Would you accept this?

This is absolute robbery and I am contacting the Better Business Bureau immediately! My wife had a horrific allergic reaction to a belly button piercing and it was weeping so much fluid we legitimately thought a water pipe burst under our floorboards. We called an emergency contractor to check the dirt foundation plumbing and he charged us a $1,250 trench inspection fee only to tell us the PVC pipes were perfectly fine but my wife was experiencing a severe internal drainage failure! INTERNAL DRAINAGE FAILURE?? He literally tried to sell us a $5,500 sump pump to clear out the piercing moisture pocket in her stomach! I refused to pay his ridiculous bill and he threatened to put a lien on our property! Do I call the police for extortion or report this plumber to the medical board?!

My wife found a handyman online who said he could replace the garbage disposal for $380 less than the plumbing company, and now I understand why. He installed the new unit, tightened a hose clamp around the side connection, rearranged the drain pipe, and told us the disposal may vibrate for the first week because it is “learning the sink’s rhythm.” LEARNING THE SINK’S RHYTHM?? Then he warned us not to put eggshells, vegetables, rice, pasta, coffee grounds, grease, or anything with texture into it. At that point what exactly is the garbage disposal allowed to dispose of, positive thoughts? Would you trust this repair?

Am I overreacting?? I took my wife back to the studio because her new collarbone dermal anchor looks like it was literally cemented into her chest and is completely crooked. The piercer showed us this photo of our outdoor spigot and said her skin needs a heavy duty mortar patch just like the brick wall to keep the jewelry from shooting out under pressure! SHOOTING OUT UNDER PRESSURE?? He claimed the brass valve and PVC pipes are perfectly normal structural supports for a heavy flow dermal and then charged us a $850.00 structural integrity fee! I asked why the area around the piercing was packed with gray sludge and he said it was medical grade concrete meant to stabilize her vascular system! Do I call the health department or a literal masonry contractor?

My wife found a handyman online who said he could save us $1,900 on the outdoor plumbing work, and now I understand why. He dug a trench beside the house, connected a white pipe through the siding, left a capped section sticking straight up, and told us the gravel mound is part of the final design because the drain needs a “natural breathing zone.” A NATURAL BREATHING ZONE?? I asked when he was filling the hole and he said the soil has to become comfortable around the pipe first. Would you let him come back or call a real plumber before he adds lawn furniture around it?

I am absolutely fuming right now. My family and I just got back from our huge cross-country drive from British Columbia down to Arizona, and I hired a plumber to fix a simple running toilet. I walked into the bathroom and found him with his entire head wedged underneath the tank and practically inside the bowl! I demanded the foreman explain this absolute butchery, and he looked me dead in the eye and claimed the flush valve was undergoing a localized ceramic vortex destabilization that required a full cranial diagnostic quarantine! LOCALIZED CERAMIC VORTEX DESTABILIZATION?? Sir, this is a standard bathroom fixture, not a deep-sea submersible! I have a Master's degree, so I am perfectly capable of recognizing a blatant plumbing scam when I see one. He refused to pull his head out and told me my aggressive posture was disrupting the water pressure. Am I overreacting or should I call the police for home invasion over this absolute racket?!

My landlord said the bathroom repair would take 2 days. This is what I walked into after work. The floor is chopped into sections, there are deep trenches full of dirt, the walls are open, and the shower plumbing is hanging there like the room survived an earthquake. I asked when they were putting the floor back and he said the channels are a “permanent overflow relief system” in case the pipes ever leak again. A PERMANENT OVERFLOW RELIEF SYSTEM?? So the official plan is to let future water escape into the ground beneath the house. Is this maintenance or landlord archaeology?

My family and I just got back from our huge cross-country drive from British Columbia down to Arizona, and I came home to find the contractor I hired to remodel our entryway left it looking like a war zone! The drywall is completely gone, and the main electrical panel is literally dangling from a single scrap of wood over the bare subfloor! I demanded the foreman explain this absolute butchery, and he looked me dead in the eye and claimed the original studs were undergoing a localized electromagnetic structural destabilization that required a full-room voltage quarantine! LOCALIZED ELECTROMAGNETIC STRUCTURAL DESTABILIZATION?? Sir, this is a residential house, not a high-voltage power grid! I have a Master's degree, so I am perfectly capable of recognizing a blatant contractor scam when I see one. He refused to secure the wiring and told me my aggressive posture was disrupting the circuit flow. Am I overreacting or should I call the police for grand larceny over this absolute racket?!
