It’s finally here.
What started 10 years ago as a hobby and more curiosity, became an obsession and eventually my career. My curiosity for photography led me to hours and hours of experimenting, A LOT of failing and eventually learning, more and more, gaining confidence in myself.
Volleyball has been a part of my life since 1987, when I first started playing (thanks to Sally Kus ❤️) and so when I decided to stop training to compete at a high level, photography filled that void and I was able to get front row access to many events and matches throughout Chicago. This eventually led to opportunities on the beach, both stateside and internationally (AVP and eventually FIVB) and gain the respect and friendship of many US and international athletes.
Today, all of that has led me to my ultimate dream, as a former player and professional photographer. I am boarding my flight departing for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games!!
I have so many to thank, ALL the athletes who have ever posted any of my work; the leagues who allowed me access to these incredible events, both stateside and internationally; USA Volleyball ( B.J.) for believing in me and giving me this opportunity and above all, my beautiful sisters, mother and father. I would not have been able to do this without my family who’ve supported me, helped me with my EMMIE GIRL during my long trips to cover events (Christian and Celia too ❤️).
To my father: Dad, this is for you, my biggest accomplishment. I miss you so much, I wish you could be here so I could hug you but I know you’ll be with me, the entire time.
To honor my father I’ve brought some of his ashes with me to spread at the stadium in front of the Eiffel Tower.
