This isn’t your typical rom-com. 💍💔

The film pick for this week is Materialists, directed by Celine Song (Past Lives).

Materialists dives into the chaos of dating, marriage, and the illusions of modern love, all set against the backdrop of New York’s elite. Expect less fantasy, more friction, and an honest look at what relationships cost.

Our Marketing Coordinator shares, “Some stories in this film are painfully realistic. It questions the link between love and marriage, highlights how difficult modern dating can be, and reminds us how valuable real connection is. I love Chris Evans, Dakota Johnson, and Pedro Pascal and I genuinely enjoyed watching their love triangle.”

This month’s BRM Film Club pick: Monster, directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda.

Monster weaves a delicate, multi-perspective story about childhood, truth, and misunderstanding. Known for his deeply human storytelling, Kore-eda once again explores complex emotions with subtlety and care.

Our Marketing Intern shares that, “it completely subverted my expectations. The title and the way the story unfolded in the first half misled me, only to hit even harder when I realized how easily bias, including my own, can distort how we see others. It’s a film that makes me reflect deeply on my own assumptions.”

Have you seen Kore-eda’s other films?

With The Phoenician Scheme debuting at the Cannes Film Festival, we thought it was the perfect time to revisit Wes Anderson’s modern classic, The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Meticulously crafted and visually distinctive, this whimsical comedy blends crime and bittersweet charm in true Anderson fashion.

The pastel visuals and clever dialogue make it a standout in stylized, character-driven cinema.
Our Post-Production Intern said, “If you know anything about Wes Anderson, then you’ll know that The Grand Budapest Hotel is the most Wes Anderson movie ever. Every shot feels like a painting that you can revisit over and over again. Beyond the visuals, the film also takes you on a whirlwind adventure. Definitely a fun time!”

Are you concerned about how AI is impacting Google Search?

As video, video marketing, and SEO experts, here are four of our eleven insights from the Google I/O Keynote Presentation from last week.

1. Search Experience is Evolving - Google’s new AI Mode gives curated answers and changes how people discover and interact with content.

2. Loss of Organic Clicks - If your brand isn’t in AI summaries or lacks schema markup, you could become invisible.

3. Ad Impressions May Drop - AI results may push ads lower or skip them, hurting CTR and conversions.

4. Platform Dependency Risk - Brands relying solely on Google for visibility or lead gen are at risk. Diversifying your presence is no longer optional.

From Satoshi Kon, the visionary director behind the mind-bending anime Paprika, comes a very different kind of story: Tokyo Godfathers, this month’s pick for BRM Film Club.

This animated film follows three unhoused companions: Gin, Hana, and Miyuki, who find an abandoned baby on Christmas Eve and set out on a chaotic, heartfelt journey through Tokyo.

Our Lead Editor Zak Kiernan says, “Tokyo Godfathers was a stand out pick for me because of its heartfelt storytelling. It blends humor, social commentary, and emotional depth and had an impact on me when I first saw it as a teenager. It explores themes of redemption, family, and human connection with compassion and nuance.”

A thriller… shot with an IMAX film camera? Believe the hype. 🩸

Our pick for film of the week is Sinners, the hottest movie in theaters right now. Directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, this 1930s-set vampire thriller blends style, music, and horror in a way we haven’t seen before.

Our Director of Marketing said, “Sinners was layered, intentional and a visual masterpiece to me. The juke joint scene was a whole vibe and the way they wove in music, ancestral nods, and commentary on power and belief systems? Well done.”

Shot on IMAX film for maximum visual drama, Sinners has already pulled in $181M+ globally.
