Preparing your kiddos for kindergarten can feel like a lot. Worrying if they are ready academically. If they have the social skills to navigate friendships. Can they tie their own shoes? Making sure they can open up their lunch box on their own.

There are so many facets to think about. That’s why I created an Early Numeracy Workshop for parents. To break down the essential skills to work on at home for building early numeracy without the stress.

✨ Comment WORKSHOP and I’ll send it your way!

Turns out some of the best math practice doesn’t look like math at all.

The skills that matter most in the early years are built through conversations, play, and everyday moments—not stacks of worksheets.

If you’re looking for simple, research-informed ways to build early math confidence using the things already in your home, you’re in the right place.

Follow Megan Lelo for practical, play-based math ideas that fit into real family life. 💛

Reciting number names isn’t counting.

What?!

I’ll say it again.

Reciting number names isn’t counting, it’s singing a song. Counting happens when your child begins to understand that each number words corresponds to a quantity. The is one-to-one correspondence and is a key part of building string early numeracy skills.

Just like how we read to our children to cultivate a love of reading, we need to count with our children to cultivate a love of math.

The difference isn’t that the math got easier.

It’s that you finally understand what’s actually being taught. 🤯

No more guessing.
No more Googling vocabulary during homework.
No more saying, “This isn’t how I learned it.”

Just confidence, clarity, and a child who feels supported instead of stressed.

✨ That’s the kind of math help parents really need.

Comment WORKSHOP and I’ll send you my free Kindergarten Readiness Roadmap plus access to the workshops that make today’s math actually make sense.

If you’re wondering…

💭 “Is my child actually ready for kindergarten math?”

You’re not alone.

Kindergarten readiness isn’t about memorizing flashcards or racing through worksheets. It’s about building the early math thinking that makes everything else easier.

I put together a Kindergarten Readiness Roadmap that breaks down:
✨ What skills really matter
✨ What to look for at home
✨ Simple ways to build confidence through play

If you’d like a copy plus access to my growing library of parent workshops, just comment WORKSHOP below.

I’ll send you the roadmap and everything you need to get started. 💛

Save this post so you can come back to it later, and share it with another parent who has a future kindergartener!
