Did you see Chicago artist Dmitry Samarov's letter talking about the Broken Nose Books project Peculiar Wilderness: A Chicago Alphabet? Broken Nose Books has two concurrent projects.

1. An anthology—Hurl Words into This Darkness: Echoes in Gash or Gold. This anthology is a collection of writings, visual art, and photography dedicated to real, lived-in Chicago without polish or gloss. There is a current call for submissions open!

2. A children's alphabet book. Peculiar Wilderness: A Chicago Alphabet. Words by Keith Lewis, Art by Dmitry Samarov. This book is turning into something truly stunning. A is not for Art Institute. B is not for Bean. Those are incredible parts of Chicago, but they are for another book. This book represents real Chicago—the neighborhoods, the infrastructure, the grit. It defines the Broken Nose Books ethos.
