Through it all, I’m reminded to trust God🙏🏾

2 months of intern year in the books

Never thought I’d get used to working 70h weeks with 1 off day, but here we are 🤪

Cheers to month 3 being unforgettable in only the best way possible 💕

I’ve always said that labor and delivery is my happy place and it still is, but I have to acknowledge that it isn’t always a happy place

Everyone doesn’t leave with a baby in hand

Some come in to triage with a “minor” concern and are unexpectedly admitted for induction of labor

Some have arrest of labor and convert from vaginal delivery to a c section

Some have elevated blood pressures while laboring and are diagnosed with gestational hypertension (gHTN), or also protein in the urine/elevated liver enzymes/elevated creatinine, concerning symptoms and are diagnosed with preeclampsia with or without severe features

Having a baby is a lot. This is a reminder that it’s not a happy time for everyone who enters the unit

I’m committed to continue studying to be a good provider for every patient, regardless of their outcome

Kinda funny how times flies

Bc when you’re in the thick of it, it doesn’t seem like it’s moving at all

6 years later and I’m literally living in answered prayers

Lord, I thank you🙏🏾

Drop the future, bc they call me doctor now 👩🏾‍⚕️

Don’t let them.

Keep shining.

Keep grinding.

Take charge and ownership over your learning.

You got this.

On today’s episode of what happened in residency

We had neonatal resuscitation training

after an extensive online training, we had in person training today. And it really just showed me that being a doctor is not light work. This is very serious.

To have a neonate’s life in your hands is quite precious yet scary so it’s very important to continually brush up on life-saving techniques and skills because yeah, I’m the doctor now😅
