In May 2025, we hosted a community reenactment of the 1981 CWRIC hearings at Northeastern Illinois University — one of the original sites where testimonies for Japanese American redress were first heard.

Over 85 Japanese American and Asian American participants, many descendants of WWII incarceration survivors and redress activists, gathered to re-voice historic testimonies and reflect on their meaning together 💜 This reenactment was filmed and integrated into our upcoming short film ‘Enough.’

Want a sneak peek of the film before it goes on it's film festival journey? ➡️ Join us February 22 for a Day of Remembrance community screening featuring a panel discussion with community members, a family therapist, and director Brian Tee!

Seats are filling up fast! 🎟️ RSVP now: https://bit.ly/4alnCcJ

Correction: The original photo our reenactment is based on was actually from the August 1981 CWRIC hearing that happened at the State Building in Los Angeles, CA. The original photo is by Roy Nakano.

“Enough” follows two young women separated by time but united by purpose, as the Japanese American community reckons with the lasting impact of WWII incarceration and the long fight for redress.

✊🏽 Directed by Brian Tee, the film weaves together archival history and personal reckoning as a community confronts the generational cost of silence — and the courage it takes to break it.

📖 ‘Enough’ is part of Full Spectrum Education’s Cinematic Digital History project, Reckoning with Redress, which blends film, archives, and radical accessibility to share histories shaped by those who lived them.

📅 A special pre-screening takes place February 22 for Chicago’s Day of Remembrance and features a panel discussion with community members, a family therapist, and director Brian Tee.
