I posted about this yesterday. I hope it gets through to the group today…
I bought a semi-detached house over a month ago in London which dates back to the late 1800s. These are the tiles in the front hall. In my opinion, they’re unusual because they’re unlike the traditional Minton tiles that one would usually find in Victorian or early Edwardian properties. These almost look modern. However, the previous owner and the estate agent both said they were original which has been backed up by a picture of another house on this row that was on the market a few years ago, which had this exact same tile. Does anybody know what the provenance of this tile is? The only thing I could find on the internet was a picture of the exact tile in a 16th century convent somewhere in Peru. Any help identifying this tile would be appreciated. Thanks
