This Friday, Sept. 4th, at Noon, Peace and Justice Host Natalie Hanson discusses the reporting she's been doing on the local programs which recently lost contracts with Butte County Behavioral Health as California adjusted how mental health services funding is allocated under Prop 1, then delve into newly released documents in a lawsuit alleging harassment and disparagement of a former ag dean at Chico State as reported at ChicoSol. The final segment focuses on some of the Trump administration's impacts on higher education including funding cuts for Hispanic Serving Institutions, and where enrollment of international students has changed under the administration's changes to visa policy. At 12:30 Wynd Kaufmyn of StopAI will discuss Open AI whose Artificial Superintelligence puts humanity at risk. Animal Rights, Eggs, and Feminism-
In the first segment of the program, philosopher Robert Jones welcomes fellow philosopher and critical theorist John Sanbonmatsu for a discussion of his book, The Omnivore’s Deception: What We Get Wrong about Meat, Animals, and Ourselves, arguing that feminists should support animal rights. In the second half of the show, Robert speaks with veterinarian and animal rights activist Dr. Crystal Heath, DVM, founder of Our Honor, about why cage-free eggs are nothing more than a marketing scam.

This show focuses on Flock cameras in Chico, the police department, and coming sweeps of camps of unhoused residents. Natalie also covers the national pushback against Data Centers. Historian Woody Holton is Eran Zelnik's guest on the Peace and Justice Program this Friday, July 31st at Noon on 90.1FM, KZFR.org. Morgan Cooper Totah has lived in Occupied Palestine for over 20 years and she’s the founder of Handmade Palestine which provides a living income for artisans across Palestine. Brenda Perez is the Founder and Executive Director of Centro del Pueblo a grassroots non profit which has advanced immigrant human advocacy, community organizing, youth leadership, cultural preservation, and mutual aid in Humboldt County.
