You'll hear an interview I did with 28 year old DK Harrell, who recently released his first record with Alligator Records, Talkin' Heavy. His debut album, The Right Man, came out on Little Village. Hear his story about how he went from being a mute child to singing along with BB King and then facing homelessness and now touring all over the world and receiving BMAs and continuing to rise.

Coming up on Saturday, on Studio 416 with Co-Host Shirley McCoy is an action packed show.

I'll be airing Dan Carter's interview with Meg Helms about the upcoming Paradise Chocolate Fest coming up next weekend and some of the fun festivities taking place including some great live music.

Then I'll be airing an interview with the Florida-born fiery bluesman Selwyn Birchwood who will be making an appearance at The Press Club in Sacramento, a rare West Coast stop.

AND, if that wasn't already enough of a punch packing radio show, I'll be talking to the amazing Texas blues queen Carolyn Wonderland about her upcoming release on Alligator Records, Truth Is, coming out on May 16th.

This Saturday at 1:30, it's time for Studio 416 with Co-Host Shirley McCoy.

For this show, I'll air an interview with Pat Faherty, awesome guitar player formerly with the band GA-20. We discuss his new band, Canyon Lights, featuring Tim Carman and Heather Gillis.

I will also be bringing in some guests to speak about this weekend's Maker's Muse Street Fair being put on by our friends at Idea Fab Labs Chico and Maker Radio.

To close us out I'll have a few members of local favorites band the mighty Smokey the Groove. They are celebrating 10 years of playing music together and are having an epic show at Lost on Main to celebrate.

In honor of Black History Month, I'll air an interview with the incredible Ronnie Baker Brooks, son of the legendary Lonnie Brooks. Blues in My DNA, released last October, was his debut record with Alligator Records. I talked to him about how it feels to finally be on the same record label as his dad and his upcoming show March 4th at Harlow's presented by Sacramento Blues Society

This Saturday on Studio 416 with Co-Host Shirley McCoy, I'll be talking to Anthony Ayra and catching up with AC Myles.

They'll be appearing together at the The Torch Club this Sunday, January 26th. A blue Sunday event brought to you by the Sacramento Blues Society.

Anthony Ayra appeared on The Voice at just 15 years old and is making a name for himself in the Americana/blues scene

AC Myles is an bad ass guitar slinger who played alongside Fillmore Slim and tours around the Bay Area with his own band. He is known to play with Joe Hammons from time to time when he is in our area.

And finally I'll be talking to Mike Hammar of Mike Hammar and the Nails, a Sacramento Blues Society band to hear about their newest release Rasied in the Dirt.
