At around 12:21 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies from the Shasta County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on the 3000 block of Balls Ferry Road in Cottonwood after receiving a report of racially-motivated graffiti had been written.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies contacted the resident and observed the white spray-painted graffiti on the roadway directly in front of the residence.
