36-year-old Alfonso Pasillas of Oroville was arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail on charges of arson to forestland, an arson enhancement with prior convictions, and unlawful discharge of a registered emergency signaling device.

During his arraignment, Judge Kristen Lucena deemed 36-year-old Alfonso Pasillas a public danger and ordered him held without bail. Pasillas is scheduled to return to court on August 7, 2025,

From 9AM to 11AM on Friday, the Community Action Agency of Butte County, Inc. North State Food Bank will be distributing food to those in need at the Magalia Community Church, located at 13700 Skyway in Magalia.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Chico Police Department reported that 14-year-old Patience Knauff, who was reported missing after being last seen near Sycamore Pool at 1:25 AM, has been found and safely reunited with her family.
