Dec. 17, 2025, Red Bluff, Calif. β Amid recent rumors circulating ahead of the California Circuit Finals Rodeo, scheduled for December 29β31 in Red Bluff, the California Circuit Board of Directors and the Red Bluff Round-Up would like to clarify that the event will proceed as planned at the Tehama District Fairgrounds.
The health and safety of all animal athletes and livestock remains a top priority. In response to concerns surrounding the Equine Herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1) outbreak reported in other regions, the California Circuit has implemented comprehensive precautionary measures to protect competition horses and livestock.
Representatives from the Red Bluff Round-Up and the California Circuit recently returned from the PRCA National Convention and the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, where extensive equine safety protocols were discussed and enforced. The Round-Up is grateful to apply this firsthand knowledge ahead of the Circuit Finals Rodeo.
At this time, there are no confirmed cases of EHV-1 in the State of California. The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has been in direct communication with California competitors who may have attended known exposure events, and our staff is in constant contact with local veterinarians.
Horse owners and competitors are advised to continue standard biosecurity practices, including isolating horses during travel, monitoring temperatures twice daily, and maintaining strict hygiene protocols. Additionally, the outdoor stall facilities at the Tehama District Fairgrounds provide a clean and well-ventilated environment for competition horses.
Contestants and fans are encouraged to rely solely on information released directly from the Red Bluff Round-Up and/or the California Circuit Finals Rodeo through official communication channels and social media pages.
We are proud to host the California Circuit Finals Rodeo for the sixth year and look forward to welcoming competitors and fans alike for three days of rodeo action, followed by a New Yearβs Eve Concert! Attendees are also invited to watch the N.Y.E. Barrel Racing festivities located at the fairgrounds.
