Brett Johnsen Music, formerly The Ascent Music Academy, is a toned down version of the "Academy" offering one on one music lessons, audio and video recording and editing. The fundamentals of Brett's teaching are still the same as they were when he owned and operated the academy, thus the original description is still listed below! The Ascent Music Academy has a curriculum based on the fundamentals

of becoming a well rounded musician, regardless of what instrument is being taught or the age of the student. Created from the ground up by Brett Johnsen, the academy’s curriculum, “The Ascent”, is academically based while still designed to be fun, interactive, and appeal to children as well as adults. “The Ascent” has also been designed to be sensitive to the individual needs and wide variety of “learning styles” that teachers encounter. Each lesson is “custom” designed around the needs and goals of the student. The Ascent Music Academy is committed to improving lives through music by instilling several key qualities in our students.
