For the first time since his home was burglarized on Sunday, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders spoke publicly about the incident on Wednesday.
Sanders opted for a positive outlook, telling reporters, "Mentally and emotionally, I'm in a great place overall. In life there's always gonna be adversity and things aren't always gonna go as planned, but I would say I'm prepared for anything."

Second-year New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye produced yet another stellar outing as he guided his club to a relatively easy 27-14 win over the New York Jets that improved the Patriots to 9-2 on Thursday night.

Following the victory, Maye's teammates showered him with praise he has earned since the beginning of what's become an eight-game winning streak.

Patriots players wouldn't trade Drake Maye for any other QB?
"He's playing at an elite level right now," rookie New England left tackle Will Campbell said about Maye after the win, per the Patriots' website. "I'm biased, but I think he's the best player in the NFL. There's no game that we're out of when we have him. He's just, even how good of a player he is, he's an even better person and an even better teammate."

Kayshon Boutte: How Vrabel Changed New England & Why Drake Maye is Different

Much was made throughout the offseason about Maye's alleged need to improve as a leader. Under first-year Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Maye has become arguably the best quarterback of the season's first two months.

Against the Jets, Maye completed 25-of-34 passes for 281 yards with a touchdown and zero interceptions. According to Pro Football Reference, he will enter the weekend ranked fourth in the NFL among qualified players with a 74.1 adjusted QBR, fifth with a 113.2 passer rating and first with 2,836 total passing yards. Over 11 games, he tossed 20 touchdown passes and only five interceptions.

Patriots players have one pick for MVP
As of Friday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had Maye as the overall betting favorite at +235 odds to claim the Most Valuable Player Award for the regular season. His teammates seem to agree with such outlets.

"He’s my MVP, man," Patriots tight end Hunter Henry said about Maye, as Chad Graff shared for The Athletic. "I love him to death as a player, and I love him to death as a person. He’s my guy. I’ll go to bat for him wherever he wants. I love competing with him, love playing with him, and just love being on this team with him."

As had been expected, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed on Thursday that quarterback Brock Purdy will return to the starting lineup when the 6-4 49ers play at the Arizona Cardinals (3-6) this coming Sunday afternoon.

Purdy is replacing Mac Jones, who made eight starts for San Francisco over the season's first 10 weeks. While speaking with reporters, Shanahan revealed how Jones handled the inevitable demotion.

Mac Jones could see the writing on the wall
"Honestly, it was awesome," Shanahan said about Jones' reaction, per David Bonilla of 49ers WebZone. "I mean, I didn't even have to communicate with him. I think he understood the situation that he went into. He's understood it the whole time. And he had a real good idea that Brock was getting there, was going to be ready this week, so it wasn't something that I really had to have a big meeting with or anything — but I did before we went out on the practice field. I did call him in just to tell him how much I appreciated how well he played during that time, and to kind of thank him for it."

Jones went 5-3 as Purdy dealt with what became a lingering toe injury that he picked up in Week 1 and then aggravated in Week 4. According to Pro Football Reference, Jones heads into the weekend ranked 10th in the NFL among qualified players with a 64.9 adjusted QBR, second with an average of 268.9 passing yards per game and third with a 53.4 percent passing success rate for the season.

On Monday, Cowboys rookie CB Shavon Revel Jr. will play in a football game for the first time in 429 days.
This time it won't be against Appalachian State, it'll be against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night football for his NFL debut after recovering from a torn ACL that ended his final collegiate season at East Carolina.
"I'm very excited," Revel said. "Not playing football for a whole year, you know what I mean? I'm very excited. I just got to focus on the details, a little rusty, but at the end of the day, I know what I've got to do. I know I've got to put that work in, I know I've got to take it step by step every day."
