The medieval trend of strapping books to your body. If f***y packs aren’t nerdy enough for you, there’s an even better option: a literal book in a bag or box that’s worn on your body.

In medieval times, you might want to take your most important book or spiritual text on the go. there were were cumdachs, satchels, and my favorite: girdle books.

The girdle book could be as small as a few inches and was basically a book with an extended binding that ended in a knot that you could use to hang it from your belt, while keeping it wrapped and protected from the weather.
