Lake Todd Fish Camp is a seafood restaurant located in Concord, NC thats been serving traditional Southern fish camp fare since 1962.

They’re known for their fried fish baskets, fried flounder, catfish, popcorn shrimp, and oysters. They’re also highly praised for offering gluten-free breading and options for items like fried fish and hush puppies. Their entrees are served with traditional sides like slaw, fries, onion rings, and fried banana peppers.

Clothes Bin Kannapolis is a family-owned discount clothing store located on N Cannon Blvd in Kannapolis, NC. It’s a treasure-hunt style store where shoppers dig through bins to find bargains. It’s a super clean bin store with a very organized setup. You’ll find brand new name-brand clothing and accessories for the entire family, ranging from infants up to 5X in men’s and plus sizes in women’s. They also stock seasonal items.

Prices drop progressively through the week-
Thursday – Saturday: $8 for everything
Sunday – Monday: $6 for everything
Tuesday: $4 for everything
Wednesday: Closed for restock

Bristol Motor Speedway, only a three hour drive from Rowan County!

My family was given a last minute opportunity to go to the race so we took it! If you’re a big NASCAR fan then you know Bristol is one of the more popular tracks. It’s called the Last Great Colosseum- the grandstands completely surround the half mile track and the acoustics are intense, making the engine sounds create a deafening roar! It also has an incredible view of the mountains 🏁

We ended up staying close to Boone and it was only an hour from there. So we were also able to enjoy the NC mountains and I got to try some new restaurants 😋

Red Buffalo Bar & Grille is a bar and restaurant located inside the Sonesta Select in Statesville, NC. It started in 2018 as a craft brewery in downtown Statesville (Red Buffalo Brewing Co.) before expanding into this second grille location. It’s designed as an easygoing gathering place for both locals and hotel guests to grab a casual meal. The menu focuses on classic American comfort food and tavern favorites, including wings, burgers, and a variety of apps. They also have a wide-ranging bar menu with craft beers on tap and specialty cocktails.

We went for a full Buffalo experience- pizza rolls, wings and a beef on weck sandwich. It was all super delicious! I really enjoyed the roast beef sandwich and the honey mustard wings. The pizza rolls dipped in ranch were tasty too! We also tried their cheesecake rolls for dessert, yum!

Bonsai Kitchen is a popular, family-owned Asian fusion restaurant in Kannapolis, NC. Some of their specialities include: made to order handcrafted sushi rolls and sashimi, hibachi plates, and Thai dishes.

They receive praise for consistently good food, having a welcoming environment, and friendly service so it’s no wonder they’re such a popular spot!

We got crab rangoons and three sushi rolls, and it was all delicious! The presentation was awesome too!
