The Antidote for the Guilt of Sin: Justified by Faith Alone

Christians need to know and understand the doctrine of justification by faith alone. This book is not an academic commentary of Romans. However, it is an exposition of the first 5 chapters of Romans with an eye on the doctrine of justification by faith alone. It explains the doctrine of justification in terms of the guilty sinner and the justified believer. While the contemporary church preaches justice for victims of sin, they avoid preaching the guilt of sin. The emphasis on social justice has produced victimizationalism; the church has ignored the payment that must be made for the guilt and finally the condemnation for sin. This book examines the biblical view of justification by faith alone by giving close attention to words like: faith, guilt, forgiveness, justice, justification, justified, law, sin, salvation and many more.

This work is not about redefining the traditional reformation's view of the interpretation of justification of faith alone. This book was written and published so every member of the body of Christ may read, study, and apply the doctrine to their daily lives.

Pastor Nat Rudulph said, "This is by far the most cogent and clear teaching of the doctrine of justification by faith alone that I have read. Murphy combines a theologically deep and profound exposition of the subject, yet with language and logic that can be understood by most believers."

The author has a B.A. in Bible from Columbia International University and Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. Martin spent nearly thirty years in the class room, the pulpit, the lectern, the study, and the library. He now devotes most of his time consolidating academic and practical gains by writing Christian books. He is the author of twenty Christian books on topics such as apologetics, theology, and biblical exposition.

This book examines the history of the church, in layman language, from the first Pentecost after the ascension of Jesus Christ until Paul’s final ministry in Rome. It is an exposition of the book of Acts with a particular emphasis on the mission and ministry of the church. It takes you back to the first 30 years of the church and examines the flagship for church growth principles. A flagship guides the fleet. The first 30 years of the church ought to be the flagship church for the rest of church history on earth. Written by a reformed theologian, I hope others will benefit from this work.
The author earned a B.A. in Bible from Columbia International University and Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. He devoted nearly thirty years in the class room, the pulpit, the lectern, the study, and the library. He is the author of numerous books relative to Christian doctrine and apologetics.

Pastor Clark Cornelius describes the book from a pastor's perspective. "With the storytelling of a historian, the compassion of a pastor, and the skill to make theology apply to daily living, Martin Murphy’s Exposition of Ephesians guides the reader through a treasure house enumerating God’s grace. It illuminates God’s spiritual riches to a modern Church, which has forgotten Christ’s wall-destroying work of unity. Murphy’s work sounds the call for the modern Christian to embrace his pre-destiny, suit up for service, and enjoy God’s gifts of grace and peace."

The author writes, “My purpose is to examine various doctrinal concepts and principles in the book of Ephesians that apply to the contemporary church."

Free on Kindle – Learn to Pray: Biblical Doctrine of Prayer

Honestly, have you studied the doctrine of prayer according to the Lord's instruction? This book is a careful examination of the Lord's Prayer, which ought to be the model prayer for all Christians. It also reviews some of the prayers of the apostle Paul to discover his doctrine of prayer. Some Christian teachers suggest changing "our Father" to "my Father" therefore moving away from the biblical model and doctrine to the therapeutic relationship model, thus denying the biblical doctrine of prayer.

One reviewer summarizes the book: " I have to say I really, really enjoyed reading this breakdown of The Lord's Prayer. Very insightful…highly recommend!!!!" Another reviewer comments: "Ninety-two inspirational pages based on the wisdom of Luke 11 - The Lord's Prayer. Pastor Murphy's book refreshed my prayer life… It honors our God and will bless you." Start a Bible study and use, Learn to Pray: Biblical Doctrine of Prayer, as your guide. A great gift for any Christian, pastor, teacher or layperson. The paperback book is available on Amazon for $7.95.

Joy in Worship explains Christian worship from a biblical perspective. The first principle of God-centered worship is that it must be offered to God through the perfect Mediator, the Lord Jesus Christ. Worship is either true or false. This book is a layman's guide to the Regulative Principle of worship; the Bible alone should inform the way in which the church worships God. . Joy in Worship explains the biblical doctrine of worship, not traditional or contemporary, but worship regulated by Scripture. This book is more about the heart of worship rather than the type of instruments and songs used in worship. This book will help you discern the difference! Share this with your Facebook Friends. Start a Bible study with your friends. You could make a difference in someone's life.

Theological Terms in Layman Language

Simple words like faith or not so simple words like aseity are explained in plain language. Error in doctrine will almost inevitably lead to error in practice. When a man believes wrongly, he will act wrongly. It was the use and misuse of theological and doctrinal words that compelled me to write Theological Terms in Layman Language. A great gift for pastors, Sunday School teachers, Bible study leaders, and laymen. Look at the reviews on my Amazon Author Page.

The god of the Church Growth Movement

Free on Kindle

This book is an analysis and critique of the church growth movement. The church growth movement finds its most faithful followers referring to “contemporary worship” or talking about the “emerging church.” It shows the modern church follows the modern culture. One reviewer comments: “The author shows peace, joy and real love didn't leave the Church but perhaps has been buried underneath a mountain of programs, projects, activities and entertainment. This book shows in a nutshell how and why the Church is not on the same path that it used to be. It's a very informative read shedding light on what is wrong and what needs to happen to fix it.” The hope for the future of the church is not in the church growth movement, but in the powerful work of the Holy Spirit through the hands of faithful churchmen who are being reformed by the Word of God.

This book was written for Christians to meditate and read for personal spiritual growth. The first seven chapters answer questions about the church: What is it, where is it, who owns it, what is its purpose, mission and ministry? It explains why a person can only “go to church” one time in this life. The remaining chapters examine the life of the church, discussing subjects like, sin, doctrinal integrity, anger, marriage, education, death, etc. One reviewer said, “The author gave me lots to think about and challenged me to think more clearly and deeply about issues of faith and practice.” It is also useful for group Bible Study or Sunday School.

The author has a B.A. in Bible from Columbia International University and Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. Martin spent nearly thirty years in the class room, the pulpit, the lectern, the study, and the library. He is the author of fourteen Christian books.

Elijah on apologetics: Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” - 1 Kings 18:21

The study and practice of apologetics will take people to a new level of understanding the God of meaning and reality. However, “The goal is to practice practical apologetics, not scholarly apologetics.” The last chapter discusses how the Christian worldview includes apologetics and evangelism. It is not written for elementary school students, but it is not too difficult for anyone who is able to read and study. As the sub-title asserts, Apologetics: Explained and Applied. It is simply my Christian apology.

The author has a B.A. in Bible from Columbia International University and Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. He is the author of 19 books relative to Christian doctrine, theology, apologetics, and cultural issues. He has several other books in Kindle format for 99¢:

N. G. Rudulph, Jr., a retired pastor and Christian author, describes this book as a compendium of wisdom from a sage. It is challenging and thought-provoking. It is a buffet of the cold hard truth served up with politically incorrect saltiness, and seasoned with barbs of delicious irony. There is no lack of religious incorrectness either. Martin does not hold back in his accurate and not-so-painless assessment of the contemporary church with such statements as, “The how-to gospel has bankrupted the evangelical church.” Jewels of humor jump off the pages, such as “Ecclesiastical intrigue is as common as fried chicken.”

Martin Murphy has a B.A. in Bible from Columbia International University and Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. Martin spent nearly thirty years in the class room, the pulpit, the lectern, the study, and the library. He now devotes most of his time consolidating academic and practical gains by writing books.
