T.O. Young Voices Podcast

T.O. Young Voices Podcast A Podcast with A Purpose! Tohono O’odham Young Voices Podcast is a show that focuses on sharing tribal topics and stories of Southern Arizona. Whereas the T.O.

We work on educating the public through an indigenous lens, that shares awareness and information from community members’ perspectives. We provide an accessible platform through digital media outlets with open and honest discussions of underrepresented narratives. I've expanded the podcast to the KXCI Community Radio website titled "Cultivating Indigenous Voices." This is a 30 minute podcast show with the same focus as the Tohono O'odham Young Vocies podcast. Being able to expand the podcast allows me to reach a more broader audience sharing indigenous topics, stories, and involvement in the Tucson community. Young Voices Podcast show is uncensored and gives me more freedom to share whatever topics and music. So it is on this page where I represent and share both podcast shows. Thank you for the support!

Stay informed about what’s happening along the border. There is a real possibility that a border wall could go up on O’odham Jewedga. And not just one wall but a second wall as detailed in the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”.

O:gi Hi:him Hemajkam!

We have updates to share that only coming together will be the way to bring the Na:da closer to you.

Please come prepared for the elements (heat/rain), bring your chairs, come healthy, and self sufficient.

See you there 🌘

It was an inspiring, grounding day at the Ancestral Table: Our Foods and Wellness Gathering learning about food sovereignty, honoring Yoeme traditional healers, and connecting with the community. It is so powerful to see how coming together around traditional Indigenous foodways can help us heal, build resilience, and celebrate our roots. So much gratitude to and Yoemem Harvest for hosting this incredible family event!

Still missing. Still loved. Still fighting. ❤️

High rates of domestic violence, sexual violence, trafficking, with the intersections of poverty, racism, and homelessness etc. are all contributing factors to this crisis that has for many years directly impacted tribal/indigenous communities.

Arizona consistently ranks among the top 3 states with the highest number of Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls. Tucson AZ remains a critical area for the MMIR crisis, ranking among the top 5 urban areas in the U.S.

Advocates highlight that the high rates in Tucson are deeply tied to unaddressed domestic and sexual violence, as well as jurisdictional gaps between city, county, and tribal law enforcement.

Grassroots efforts working to increase local/national awareness, while working to build accurate data reporting systems has become a powerful, decentralized force for enhancing transparency, accountability, and equity. By blending qualitative, and community-sourced stories, these efforts have effectively challenged existing power structures and informed policy.

Today and everyday we keep in mind and in prayer those who are still missing and/or have been murdered. We also uplift the families and friends whose loved ones never returned home ❤️‍🩹

Here is a great read featuring Joseph Morales, who was also a recent guest on the podcast!

The moment Joseph lifted his camera to photograph the President of the United States, something inside him clicked.

Clarity. Pride. Purpose.

Not long before that moment, he was an 18‑year‑old graduating during the pandemic - uncertain, unsupported, and searching for a place where he belonged.

In our latest newsletter, we share Joseph’s journey from doubt to direction - and how a Tribal College, mentorship, and belief helped him find not just his path, but his voice as a Native storyteller.

📖 Read Joseph’s story and see how culturally grounded education changes lives.
