Autumn colors and that soft evening glow lit this eagle beautifully… though I swear he was giving me the look.
‘You lookin’ at me?

Golden hour flyby! Shot this one wide-open — which I never do — but it paid off. Since I had the day off from the office, I finally dug through some of my October files and found a few gems like this one. 10-16-2025 Onondaga Lake!

This is what happens when I eat my breakfast cereal while editing some images.
‘Eagle enlarged to show texture’ in one corner, weight printed in the other… all we need now are fun facts on the back and a free toy of a screaming Babs inside.

Had a full-on standoff with this lady… and I swear she was judging me. Am I too close? Is it my hair? Do I have BO? Do I look like a fish? All of the above? I’ve seen that look many times before — and not just from this female. Onondaga Lake 11-04-2025

One of my last autumn captures before the rains rolled in these past few days.
I found this beauty perched along the river, about a mile from the Dog Park at Onondaga Lake. The colors were still hanging on, glowing just enough to frame this eagle perfectly. Taken on 11-8-2025, and definitely one of my favorites

Photographed on the morning of November 4th around 8 a.m. at Onondaga Lake. The winds were fierce, and the clouds were ominous as a cold front rolled in from the west. I mentioned to someone that the direct morning sun from the east would make for an incredible portrait with that storm front behind us. And then, almost on cue… this eagle appeared.

Always a show with this bunch! Buster’s down below giving "Lucy" the full ‘business,’ while Queen Babs perches high on her throne—completely unfazed by the royal drama. Just another episode in the Onondaga Lake, Eagle Kingdom Chronicles! from 11-10-2025

A wickedly cold, raw, and windy day out there — the kind that makes you question your sanity for standing in it! But not these guys. The wind only seems to fuel their resolve. They glide effortlessly, back and forth, riding the gusts until that perfect landing in their favorite roosting tree is achieved. One of my favorite images from Onondaga Lake this past week!

First snowfall of the season, and the residents are out braving it. Here we have who I believe is Buster, shaking off his snowy wings as he heads back to the warmth of his “friends” — who, like me, have had just about enough of the cold already. Time to dig out my thermal muntondes! Onondaga Lake, 11-10-2025
