We talk so much about how women “handle” postpartum and not nearly enough about the environment they’re expected to heal in.The hormones are real. The exhaustion is real. The recovery is real. But there’s a huge difference between going through it with someone who helps carry the weight and someone who becomes more weight to carry.Motherhood was never supposed to mean disappearing yourself to take care of everyone else.
So maybe the question isn’t always, “Why is she struggling?”
Maybe it’s: Who was taking care of her while she was taking care of everyone else? 🤍
