Maximum Overdrive was released on July 25th, (1986). 40 years ago today. 😱

Maximum Overdrive is a horror film written and directed by Stephen King, based on his short story "Trucks," about a comet causing machines to come to life and attack humans, trapping survivors at a truck stop besieged by killer vehicles. Starring Emilio Estevez, Pat Hingle, and Laura Harrington, the film is known for its AC/DC soundtrack, campy tone, and King's directorial debut, which he later disowned, citing drug use during production. Despite poor initial reviews, it has gained a cult following as a "so bad it's good" classic.

Remember when Amazon passed on the last series adaptation? With this news I think it’s fair to say they aren’t out of the Mid World game yet.

Amazon MGM Studios has signed Mike Flanagan to an exclusive multiyear overall deal, under which he will develop and produce original series for the studio.
