🍷 Carpineto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva 2016

Carpineto is one of those producers that just gets it right. From Chianti Classico to Brunello, and especially here in Montepulciano, their wines consistently show balance, elegance, and age-worthiness.

This Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is built around Sangiovese (Prugnolo Gentile)—a grape that thrives in Tuscany and delivers a beautiful balance of fruit, earth, and structure. In the glass, you get layers of dark cherry, dried plum, leather, to***co, and a touch of spice, all wrapped up in silky yet firm tannins.

Right now, the 2016 is in a perfect drinking window—generous, expressive, and deeply satisfying. But don’t be fooled…this bottle has another 5–8 years of life ahead, with the potential to develop even more complexity.

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano often lives in the shadow of Brunello and Chianti Classico, but it’s absolutely a region worth exploring—especially when producers like Carpineto are putting out wines of this caliber.

Tonight’s pour: Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs 🍾
A pure expression of Chardonnay, this cuvée is all about elegance. Think crisp green apple, citrus zest, white flowers, and a chalky minerality that screams refinement. It’s lean, lifted, and laser-focused—perfect for seafood, oysters, or simply when you want a Champagne that’s sleek and precise.

But then there’s the house classic, the Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve 🥂. We love this wine as well. A blend of all three grapes (Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay), it brings richness, depth, and layers of baked apple, brioche, nuts, and spice. It’s fuller-bodied, complex, and one of the best NV Bruts out there—ideal for cheese boards, roast chicken, or just celebrating life.
