Washington Court House man killed in a single vehicle motorcycle crash.

Fayette County, Ohio – The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single vehicle crash involving a traffic fatality. The crash occurred on October 5, 2025 at approximately 7:06 P.M. on Good Hope New Holland Road north of White Road in Wayne Township, Fayette County.

The preliminary investigation shows a 2003 Harley-Davidson Road King, operated by John Landman, age 62, Washington Court House, Ohio, was southwest on Good Hope New Holland Road. The Harley-Davidson failed to negotiate a curve, drove off the right side of the roadway, and struck a utility pole. Mr. Landman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Wayne Township Fire Department, Fayette County EMS, Pic-A-Fay Joint Fire District, and the Fayette County Coroner’s Office during the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.

27 Year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash on SR682.

Athens County, Ohio – Troopers from the Athens Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Perry County woman.

The crash occurred at approximately 09:18 a.m., Sunday, September 14, 2025, on State Route 682
just south of Wildwood Lane in Athens Township, Athens County.

Monica Leigh Perani, age 27, of Corning, Ohio was traveling northwest on State Route 682 in a 2024 Nissan Sentra when her vehicle was struck head-on by a 2016 Ram 1500 pick-up that went left of center. The pick-up was being operated by Paul Richard Biehl, age 69, of Athens.

Ms. Perani was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Athens County Coroners Office.
Mr. Biehl was transported by the Athens County EMS to OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital
with non-life-threatening injuries.

Troopers were assisted on scene by officers from the Athens County Sheriff Office, the Athens Police Department, Athens County Fire Department, The Plains Fire Department,
Athens County EMS, Athens County Coroner’s Office and the Ohio Department of
Transportation.

Safety-belts were in use by both parties and alcohol is not suspected as being involved in
this crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

(8-29-2025) 35 Year-old Chillicothe man has died after being struck by a vehicle on SR159

Ross County, Ohio – Troopers from the Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal hit-skip crash this morning on state Route 159 near milepost 3.

Preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 5:44 a.m., Bruce M. Hardesty, 28, Chillicothe, was southbound on state Route 159 in a dark blue 2008 Chevrolet Uplander when his vehicle struck a pedestrian, identified as Frankie J. Bostwick, 35, Chillicothe. Hardesty then left the scene, abandoning his vehicle near 221 N. Bridge St. in Chillicothe. Bostwick was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. Hardesty was later located and is currently incarcerated at the Ross County Law Enforcement Complex.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Chillicothe Police Department, Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Chillicothe Fire Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

CHILLLICOTHE, OH – On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at approximately 1:00 AM, a Chillicothe
Police Officer was involved in a shooting incident in the 300 block of East Main Street.

One Chillicothe Police Officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment. A male involved in the incident was also transported to Adena Regional Medical Center and later transported to Grant Hospital in Columbus with
serious injuries.

At the request of the Chillicothe Police Department, the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) is leading the investigation of this incident.

No further details are being released by the Chillicothe Police Department at this time.

A 70 Year-old Chillicothe woman has died from injuries sustained in a two vehicle crash on U.S.23.

Ross County, Ohio – The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a
fatal crash that occurred at the intersection of US 23 and DeBord Road, in Huntington
Township, Ross County, Ohio.

On August 18, 2025, at 3:35 p.m., the Patrol’s Jackson Communication Center received a
report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 23 and DeBord Road. A 2013 Ford
F-350, driven by Ashley Williams, 30, of Chesapeake, Ohio was traveling southwest on
US 23. A 2025 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Carol Cunningham, 70, of Chillicothe , Ohio
was crossing the southbound lane of US 23, attempting to travel northbound on US 23.
Ms. Cunningham’s vehicle failed to yield from the intersection and traveled into the path
of Ms. Williams’ vehicle.

Ms. Cunningham was transported to the Adena Regional Medical Center where she
succumbed to her injuries. Ms. Williams and her two passengers, Beulah Mckenzie, 57,
and Abygail Williams, 10, both from Chesapeake, Ohio were transported to Adena
Regional Medical Center with Ms. Williams, all with minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Veterans Affairs Fire/Rescue,
Scioto Township Fire and EMS, Huntington Township EMS, and the Ohio Department of
Transportation. Traffic on US 23 was reduced to one lane in each direction for
approximately 2 hours while the on-scene investigation was being completed.
The crash remains under investigation.

23 Year-old man killed in single vehicle crash on U.S. 23.

Pickaway County, Ohio - According to Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey on August 7, 2025, at 10:35 P.M. the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call of a single motor vehicle accident, in the northbound lane of US Route 23 South, just south of Radcliffe Road.

Pickaway County Sheriff Deputies arrived on scene and located a 2014 gray GMC Arcadia in the northbound lane of US Route 23 south. During the Deputies investigation they learned that the GMC Arcadia was traveling southbound on US Route 23 just south of Radcliffe Road, the vehicle went off the west side of the roadway. The GMC Arcadia over corrected and went into the median where it rolled and landed back on its wheels in the northbound lane of travel. The driver was ejected.

The driver of the GMC 23-year-old James G. Roush IV was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pickaway Township EMS.

Sheriff Hafey would like to thank Pickaway Township Fire and EMS, and Circleville Fire and EMS, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Pickaway Township Trustees, Ohio Department of Transportation and the Pickaway County Coroner, Dr. Seth Yates for their assistance at the scene.

This accident remains under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

A single vehicle crash in Pickaway County has claimed the life of a 47 year-old Lancaster, Ohio man.

According to Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey on August 6, 2025, at 4:57 P.M. the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call of a single motor vehicle accident, in the area of 18140 Commercial Point Road, Circleville, Ohio.

Pickaway County Sheriff Deputies arrived on scene and located a 2024 red Chevrolet Colorado into a tree. During their investigation Deputies learned that the Chevrolet Colorado was traveling eastbound on Commercial Point Road just east of Anderson Road and failed to negotiate a curve and drove into the tree.

The driver of the truck, 47-year-old Jason E. Hoffman of Lancaster, Ohio was taken by Harison Township EMS to Grant Medical Center.

Jason Hoffman was later pronounced dead at the Grant Medical Center, in Columbus, Ohio.

Sheriff Hafey would like to thank Harrison Township EMS, and Scioto Township EMS, for their assistance at the scene.

This accident remains under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Waverly teen killed in two vehicle crash on U.S. 23.

Ross County, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash that
occurred on US Route 23 near Alma Omega Road in Franklin Township, Ross County,
Ohio, on August 5th, 2025, at approximately 5:59 PM.

A 2020 GMC Terrain, driven by Drezden Bolin-Hitchens, 18, of Waverly, Ohio, was
driving southeast on US Route 23 when he drove left of center and struck a 2016 Nissan
NV2500, driven by Joseph Brandt, 18, of Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Bolin-Hitchens was
pronounced deceased on scene. Mr. Brandt was transported by Huntington Township EMS
to Adena Regional Medical Center for serious injuries. A passenger in the Nissan, Luis
Granados-Soto, 44, of Blacklick, Ohio, was transported by Scioto Township EMS to
Adena Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Ross County Sheriff’s
Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation, Huntington Township Fire and EMS,
Scioto Township Fire and EMS, and the Ross County Coroner’s Office.

The north and southbound lanes of US-23 were closed for approximately three hours.
The crash remains under investigation.

33 Year-old Chillicothe man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 35

Ross County, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a
pedestrian that occurred on US Route 35 near milepost 18 in Ross County .

On July 25, 2025, at approximately 03:46 AM, A 2013 Ford F-150, driven by Bobbie J.
Bonds Sr, age 77, of Spring Hope, North Carolina, was traveling southeast on US Route
35. A male pedestrian, Jeremy Taylor, age 33, of Chillicothe , Ohio, was walking in the
middle of the US-35 eastbound lanes and was struck by Mr. Bonds.

Mr. Taylor succumbed to his injuries as a result of the crash. Mr. Bonds did not sustain
any injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Union Township Fire and
EMS, the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, the Chillicothe Police Department, the Ohio
Department of Transportation, and the Ross County Coroner’s Office.

The eastbound lanes of US Route 35 were shut down for approximately three hours.
The crash remains under investigation.

The recent post regarding the fatal motorcycle crash in Ross County was sent to 24 news sources in a mass email media release by The Ohio State Highway Patrol. We all received the email on the same date and time, which you can see in the attached screenshot. It is impossible for any news source to know whether the proper family contacts have been made.
My thoughts are with the family and friends of the young man.
