I preached the sermon at Alameda Chapel from Romans chapter 7. This was recorded on Sunday, May 22, 2022. After a long introduction we went verse by verse through Romans 7. It is my view that this was Paul’s experience after his conversion and is shared with believers today; the battle of the flesh and the spirit.

An Unlikely Evangelist
Taken from Mark 5:1-20 we look at one of the first evangelists recorded in the Gospels. It is the demoniac that Jesus delivered and put in his right mind. When wanting to follow the Lord he was told instead to go back to his own family and friends and tell them what great things the Lord had done for him. He then went through the region of ten cities testifying. With no formal training or special gifting this man was more than willing to share what happened. How much more shall we do the same? Shipwrecked on Malta - Arrival at Rome
As promised by the Lord through Paul everyone makes it to shore alive. Paul ministers to the people of Malta and prays for many healings. The island people of Malta showed them much kindness and gave provisions for the ship’s refugees. After three months on the island they boarded a ship that had wintered there and went first to Syracuse working their way toward Rome. Paul was met with the brethren at Three Inns. Once in Rome Julius the centurion turned the prisoners over to the captain of the guard while Paul was permitted to dwell by himself under house arrest. Shortly after Paul meets with the Jewish leaders and explains his plight. Paul also testified to the kingdom of God and dwelt two years in his own rented house preaching and teaching. Paul’s Voyage to Rome Begins
Paul is handed over to Julius, a centurion, who would conduct Paul and other prisoners to Rome. Paul had found favor with Julius. They found a ship bound for Italy and started sail first stopping at Fair Havens. It was recommended they continue to sail against Paul’s advice hoping to reach Phoenix and harbor there for the winter. They soon ran into a huge storm that left them tempest tossed for many days. Barely escaping with their lives they finally had to swim to safety after the ship broke up because of the violence of the waves. Recorded on Apr 6 , 2022 Running Time: 27 Minutes.

Paul Testifies Before King Agrippa
Episode 47 - After a short introduction Paul begins his testimony with his pre-conversion life growing up as a Jew of all Jews. He gives several statements about the resurrection as he tells of his persecution against the Christians. Paul now moves into his conversion on the road to Damascus and ends with a description of his calling to preach the Gospel explaining some main points. Festus interrupts, charging that Paul is mad and out of his mind. But Paul calmly explains his discourse has truth and reason. He then challenges King Agrippa to believe. At this point the meeting is adjourned with Agrippa and Festus discussing Paul could have been set free had he not appealed to Caesar. Recorded on March 14 , 2022 Running Time 45 Minutes.

For I am Tormented in This Flame
Episode 1 in a series on the doctrine of Hell. Our Text is Luke 16:19-31. The rich man and Lazarus whom many consider not to be a parable but it is in parable form. This story was for the benefit of the Pharisees who had just derided Jesus after he gave a previous lesson on, “you cannot serve God and Mammon”. The Pharisees who were lovers of money and were rich, thought God despised this poor beggar Lazarus who would be considered unclean. They are taught to the contrary. Our focus is the situation of the rich man as he suffers in the torment part of Hades. We look at his cognitive, physical, and spiritual condition. I conclude with a warning and short Gospel account. Paul Appeals to Caesar
Festus takes over and has a meeting with the Jews. The Jews come down to Caesarea for a hearing accusing Paul. Festus, wanting to do the Jews a favor, tries to convince Paul to go up to Jerusalem for a trial. On that request Paul appeals to Caesar and is granted his request. Upon awaiting for the process Paul is examined before King Agrippa who happens to come to town. Festus confides in Agrippa to specify official charges to bring against Paul in his appeal seeing it is not clear exactly what he has done wrong. Recorded on March 7, 2022 Running Time 24 Minutes.
