A pretty big 'bucket list' moment just happened!

A titan in the lure industry, YUM Baits, featured my photograph and custom-tied jig on their main page.

​It’s been a wild month for the page. I’ve been logging a lot of hours at the tying vise and behind the camera, so seeing that work recognized by another brand I trust is incredibly rewarding.

​Huge thanks to everyone for the support—it’s back to work now to get dialed in for the next Grand River trip! 🎣

The "PB&J Fire Craw" just proved its worth. 🔥

​I’ve been waiting to get this specific hand-tied jig into some heavy cover. I found the perfect overhanging tree—the kind of spot where you know something mean is lurking in the shadows.

​I managed to cast it in the right spot and the second it hit the bottom, it was game over. You can see the rod load up instantly! There is nothing like the confidence of throwing a lure you tied yourself.

Black & Blue, Tried & True!

The "Brown Theory" worked! 🟤🟣🟠

​Everyone says to throw black and blue for the stained water on the Grand River, but I had a different idea today.

I tied up my custom "PB&J Fire Craw" skirt on a Great Lakes Finesse head and paired it with a YUM Hellgrammite—the results were immediate!
​This 17 3/4" tank hammered it just three casts in. 🔨💪

I feather-trimmed the skirt to give it that natural, "living" pulse in the current. There’s no better feeling than landing a quality fish on a setup you dialed in yourself.

​Has anyone else found that "natural" colors can out-produce high-contrast in dirty water? Let’s hear your theories below! 👇
