Pastor Dag Heward-Mills was born on May 14, 1963, in London, United Kingdom, to Ghanaian parents. He was raised in a disciplined Christian home and later returned to Ghana for his education. He studied medicine at the University of Ghana, Legon, and graduated as a medical doctor. During his university years, he experienced a strong call to Christian ministry, which later led him to give up full-time medical practice in order to focus completely on the work of God.
His ministry began in 1987 as a small fellowship with a few young people while he was still a medical student. This group later developed into Lighthouse Chapel International, which was officially established in 1994. Under his leadership, the church expanded rapidly with a strong focus on evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and missionary outreach. His teachings emphasise loyalty, sacrifice, obedience, and commitment to the Great Commission.
In addition to his pastoral work, Pastor Dag Heward-Mills is a prolific author who has written over one hundred Christian books used widely for leadership and ministry training. He also founded the Anagkazo Bible and Ministry Training Centre, which has trained thousands of pastors and missionaries. He is married to Adelaide Heward-Mills, and together they have built a life dedicated to Christian service.
