What an amazing group of kindred spirits who showed up in Ferguson NC to learn the foundational techniques of The Masterson Method, Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork.
Many brought their own equines: mules, donkeys, a mustang, a mini plus horses! Thank you!
Pictured here for our group photo is Savannah aka Big Momma owned by @ShannonSt.ClairHoffman (pictured far left). Shannon hosted our seminar but also hosts Mule Days at Leatherwood.
And it would not have been a successful weekend without the wonderful helping hands & shared knowledge of Carla Ball & Khrystynna Hunsinger.
Much gratitude to all who helped create this wonderful weekend!

Enjoying my time in the land of long ears & green pastures!
Am I dreaming?
Or is this a dream come true?
Itās a dream come true! Gearing up to instruct the first mule-centric Masterson Method Beyond āMuleāMassage course in North Carolina this coming weekend!
Thanks to my incredible host @Shannon St. Clair Hoffman for making this real & for Jim Masterson for planting the seeds that nourish growth.
Lots of mules & donkeys are going to be yawning & feeling the benefits of the The Masterson Method, Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork!
More photos to come!

Favorite Technique Highlight! šš»
Tongue-Hyoid Release aka massaging the pole from the inside.ļæ¼
Purpose: To release tension in deep muscles around and associated with the Hyoid Apparatus. This area is associated with tension in the poll, atlas, TMJ and jaw.ļæ¼
Goal: Encourage the horse to work the tongue on his own.ļæ¼
Here you can witness Flynn working through some of the restrictions he carries.
The stiffness turns to softness toward the end of the video as you see his expression change, kinda like he just melted all over!
Love these methods, love my clients! Thanks Janice & Flynn!

Making funny faces with Flynn.
He carries so much tension in this poll, TMJ & atlas.
Heās made so many improvements! One technique & one yawn at a time.
Just another day at the office.

Lots of clients in this big Bridled Ranch Pleasure Class!
Love seeing the extension of gates & the different ways each mule moves!
Congrats all around on this windy day!

Fun lil video clip of me working with Koda Chrome.
Exemplifies having to stay loose & go with the motion of the mule to work under the brace response.
Here I'm trying to allow Koda to give me the weight if his head in my hands to help release tension in the poll-atlas junction.
Even a lil weight for just a moment can be the ticket.
You can see him working through several layers of tension & then the softening. Voila!
Thank you Jestine Fike for trusting my work with Koda & Mary Kuckenmeister for the video.

Love love love how Fanny communicates in this video!
Working under the brace & reading how much pressure or non-pressure to use, she tells me where & how to work.
There's such grace in giving her time & space to be an active participant in the bodywork.
I'll be at Bishop Mule Days if you'd like to schedule a session or would like to chat with me about why I love The Masterson Method of Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork & how it can benefit your horse, mule or donkey.

Revvy mule creates her one air-gap
One last video from my weekend of being in the presence of amazing longears.
This is Revvy, sheās a quirky gal but loves how the light touch of The Masterson Methods help her to relax.
I spent a few minutes with her just paying attention to her responses to my touch.
Enjoy her kind eye, how she floats in/out of the camera frame & creates her own air gap.
If you have experienced this; had me work with you or one of your mules, horses & donkeys, Iād sure love a little positive feedback on my page.
If youāre curious to learn more, I can help you with that! Or search for a certified practitioner @ā¦

This sweet, sensitive molly, the sentinel of the barn, needed just the above.
After her bodywork session this is OK Queen of Hearts, aka Annie letting go.
Thank you Sue Plowden Wallace & Kellie McParland Shields for the opportunity to work with Annie.
