Hello, this is Vu Nguyen of NVU FILMS and I just want to share some screenshots of our updated website as well as share a bit about myself. The work was done by the amazing . They did an incredible job, something that I do not have the mind to do, which is why it took over a decade to get it done professionally.
When I started NVU FILMS back in 2015, I had already been through multiple jobs working in retail sales, from doing door to door pitching to selling at Best Buy. I had also already worked 7 years in corporate accounting prior to launching NVU FILMS. And I'll tell you, I hate selling. I hate marketing. I see through the "BS" in marketing. I hate having to pitch and convince potential customers to value my work. For me, filmmaking is creative and visual, and I've believed that if potential customers see my work, they would hire me. I wouldn't have to sell a thing. My product sells itself, and all I needed was a place to share my portfolio, which my templated website ended up being. Unfortunately this philosophy doesn't hold up in this consumer world we live in. To have long-term success, you have to market and sell.
When you meet me, you wouldn't know that I am Autistic. I was born Autistic with ADHD but wasn't officially diagnosed until I was 38 yrs old.
When my son was 2, he started showing signs of Autism, and when researching it I discovered it is hereditary Finding the symptoms relatable to myself growing up I decided to get an assessment. It all made sense.
I did not buy my first camera until 2014. And it took me within a year to self-teach and become good at it. This is where autism is a strength. I became and still am, obsessed with filmmaking, from story-telling to the gear that is used. I'm hyper focused with creating the best films, whether it is a wedding day or a corporate commercial documentary. This is a benefit to my clients as they get absolute 100% focus and attention from my talents.
However, the weakness is in social communication (networking) and not caring about things I hate (marketing), which unfortunately is all required for a successful business.
I'm so thankful to have my website finally done!
