Over five years into recovery from a twenty three year drug addiction, Jimmy has become one of Americaβs leading voices for substance use recovery. At one time he was considered hopeless, a throw-away, someone who would die from addiction. After his release from incarceration in 2015 Jimmy found recovery and began his advocacy work. He has worked with multiple non-profits, and community organizations. Jimmy is the Co-founder of Next Step Women, a non-profit home for women in recovery. Jimmy is the founding member of the Arkansas Peers Achieving Recovery Together (A.P.A.R.T) coalition. Despite the many self-imposed disadvantages Jimmy faced, he went on to become the first parolee to hold a state position under the office of the Arkansas State Drug Director.
