Some stories deserve more than a headline.

They deserve to be heard.

Over the course of 10 days in Ethiopia, I met men and women whose faith has remained steadfast through loss, hardship, and uncertainty. Their story challenged me, inspired me, and reminded me that the Gospel continues to move forward, even in the most difficult circumstances.

I’m honored to tell that story.

Faith Through Disruption is coming soon.

Stay tuned.

First Look.

After spending 10 days in Ethiopia documenting the story of Pastor Mekebib Desta and the Free Methodist Church, I’m excited to finally share the first glimpse of what’s been in the works.

Faith Through Disruption is a story about unwavering faith in the face of adversity. It’s about pastors and communities who continue to share the hope of Christ, even after experiencing loss, persecution, and uncertainty.

This project challenged me in ways I never expected, and I believe the story deserves to be told.

I can’t wait to share the finished film with you.

Faith Through Disruption. Coming Soon.

As I sit here this morning sipping what will likely be my last cup of Ethiopian coffee, I find myself reminiscing about the last ten days. I can’t help but feel a little emotional.

When I stepped off the plane, I thought I understood the story I had come here to tell. I had an outline. I had a plan. What I didn’t have was the perspective that only comes from spending time with the people living it.

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to meet pastors who had been beaten and imprisoned for their faith, yet continued sharing the Gospel with joy. I didn’t expect to stand in places where Christianity has existed since its infancy. And I certainly didn’t expect to meet a pastor who, after losing so much, wasn’t focused on rebuilding what was lost, but on reaching one more person with the hope of Christ.

Ten days was only enough time to begin. Relationships were born. Lessons were learned. And my heart is leaving Ethiopia far different than it arrived.

Now it’s time to go home and figure out how to tell this story.

After spending time with Pastor Mekebib and several local pastors, I’ve realized this story is much bigger than a church losing its property. These pastors have endured incredible hardship. Some have been imprisoned for their faith, others have seen churches closed or taken, and many continue serving communities with very limited resources. Yet what has stood out to me isn’t their hardship. It’s their unwavering commitment to the Gospel and to the people God has called them to serve, no matter the circumstances.

What has impacted me most about Pastor Mekebib is that his vision isn’t centered on recovering what was lost. His eyes are fixed on the people who still need to hear the Gospel. Every conversation comes back to reaching families, investing in children, training leaders, planting churches, and sharing the hope of Christ with those who have never heard it. He sees the community around him as his mission field, and that mission didn’t change when the church lost its property. If anything, it has only strengthened his resolve. That’s the story I’m discovering here. It’s a story about a church that measures success not by the building it occupies, but by the lives it continues to reach.

We’re making progress on the Faith Through Disruption fundraising campaign. I’ve had a bunch of people reach out with interest to get involved. Keep in mind that this campaign is only two weeks long! So don’t drag your feet. And thank you to everyone that has supported this project. If you’re untested in getting involved hit the link in the bio or story and see what kind of behind the scenes perks there are.

Hey friends,
I’m excited to launch this new campaign for a documentary I’ll be filming in Ethiopia this summer.
I’ve been quietly working behind the scenes, developing the story, getting the facts, and solidifying all the details before coming forward with it. (You know how the last project had such a large buildup… this one I focused on getting it right.)
The film follows Pastor Mekebib Desta and the Addis Ababa Free Methodist Church as they navigate the loss of their property and pursue a bold new vision for a future home that will strengthen their congregation and expand their ministries. It’s a hopeful, character-driven story about resilience, local leadership, and the truth that the church was never the building, it was always the people.
I just launched the Kickstarter to help fund the trip and finish the film. Every bit of support helps carry this story of faith and perseverance forward.

If this resonates, I’d love if you:
• Backed the project
• Shared this with your network
• Prayed for safe travel, open doors, and an authentic film
Thank you for being part of stories that matter.
