Some BTS from the Grunt Style Foundation Benefit Concert that I filmed on Memorial Day. Savanah Rae and Velvet Rodeo put on awesome performances and the vibe was super chill. Great time. Video will be coming shortly.

Steel City Precision is not your typical square range.

Natural terrain.
Unpredictable wind.
Real-world shooting problems.

From steep elevation changes to long-range impacts deep into the Alabama hills, this place forces shooters to think, adapt, and execute under pressure.

We spent time behind the scenes capturing what makes Steel City Precision one of the most unique long-range shooting facilities in the country.

This is precision rifle training the way it was meant to be.

Project Update: We’ve made the decision to cancel the Kickstarter.

This is not about funding.
This is about protecting the people we work with.

After direct conversations with our partners in Africa, there are real concerns about increased attention and how it could impact them. With growing government restrictions on churches and nonprofits, exposure can do more harm than good.

We won’t move forward with anything that puts them at risk.

Because of that, we’re stepping back for now. We are reassessing and seeing if there’s any potential opportunity in the future.

All contributions are being fully refunded.

We’re still committed to the mission.
We’re just going to approach it differently and more carefully moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who supported this. It means a lot.

Got a chance to check out this cool little local spot while out on a real estate shoot last week. Love finding spots like this when I’m off the beaten path.

Sunday, January 18, 2026
Sony FX2 | Sony 24-105mm f/4 | ISO 200 | 31mm | f/4 | 1/200s
Wider view today at 31mm, pulling in more of the trail as it cuts through the winter woods. Bare branches, soft light filtering through, and that quiet Smoky Mountain hush after a light snow. The wider focal length gives the scene some breathing room while keeping the path leading the eye forward.
Perfect handheld settings for a brisk hike. Low ISO holds detail in the shadows, f/4 gives enough depth to keep the foreground and distant ridges sharp, and 1/200s freezes any small movement from wind or steps.
Grassy Branch remains one of the quieter winter options near Gatlinburg. Steady but not brutal climb, beautiful forest immersion, and usually fewer people than the more famous trails. Great spot to reset and enjoy the mountains without the crowds.
If you're heading to the Smokies this winter, pack layers and check trail conditions. Who's got plans for a January hike? Share your go-to spot below.

Clarksville, TN downtown from Fort Defiance.

One of the best overlooks in town. Church steeples, historic brick buildings, the courthouse, and that mix of old and new rising up against the trees. On a clear day like this, with spring green starting to fill in, it really shows why Clarksville feels both small-town and growing at the same time.

Fort Defiance itself is worth the short walk up too. Civil War history, interpretive signs, and that same panoramic payoff at the top.

If you're local or passing through, add this to your list. Great spot for photos, a quick hike, or just taking in where we live.

Sunday, January 18, 2026
Sony FX2 | Sony 24-105mm f/4 | ISO 200 | 96mm | f/6.3 | 1/160s

Quiet winter morning on the trail. Light snow dusting the pines, cold air keeping everything crisp and still. Perfect conditions for the 24-105 to grab that compressed mountain view without fighting flare or noise.

This spot always feels like a reset. No crowds, just the crunch underfoot and the ridge lines rolling out ahead.

If you're planning a winter hike in the Smokies, Grassy Branch is worth the drive. Steady climb, great views, and usually lighter foot traffic than the main Gatlinburg paths.

Wandering around Nashville last weekend and this guy was my favorite street performer.

Classic cowboy hat, bolo tie, and that smooth guitar work right on the sidewalk. He had the whole vibe going, belting out tunes with real soul that makes you stop to listen and drop tips. Moments like this remind me why Nashville feels alive – the music just happens everywhere, no stage needed.

Caught him mid-song near Broadway, and the energy was perfect. Shoutout to the legends keeping the tradition going on the streets.

Anyone else run into great buskers in Music City lately? Drop your favorites in the comments!
