Sydney’s dad wanted to do something meaningful and unique instead of the traditional father-daughter dance. He suggested they showcase something special they share. During the COVID pandemic, out of sheer boredom, Sydney asked her dad—who has been playing the drums since he was 14—to teach her how to play. Together, they decided to surprise everyone at the wedding with a father-daughter drum performance in place of the usual dance.

When I asked her dad, Bryan, whether she was any good, he smiled proudly and said, “She’s one talented little girl.”
