**UPDATE**
The tree on the roadway at Rickman Street has been removed by the City of Clayton crew. The power company is now working on replacing a pole and putting the lines back up, according to Clayton Police Department Chief Andy Strait.

Rickman Street behind Boles Market in Clayton is currently blocked due to a large tree across the road and on power lines. Certain areas are without power. Crews are actively working to remove the tree from the area.

An Otto, N.C., man pleaded guilty Monday, Feb. 24, to offenses related to a murder investigation involving a deceased body found in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in August 2023.
Keegan Cleve Plumer Phillips III, 25, made his plea to malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and two counts of abandonment of a dead body, according to a press release from Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney George Christian.
